Export & Share
Getting work out of Paintrix Studio: a quick share, a precise image export, or the whole layered project as a file.
Share
Open the gear menu and tap Export / Share. Paintrix Studio flattens the artwork to an image and opens the system share sheet, ready to save to Photos, drop into a message, or send to another app.
The same thing is available without opening a project: long press a thumbnail in the gallery and choose Share.
Export Image
For control over the file, long press a project in the gallery and choose Export Image….
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| File name | The name the exported file is given |
| Format | PNG for lossless with transparency, JPEG for a smaller file |
| Quality | JPEG only. Higher keeps more detail and makes a bigger file |
| PPI | The print resolution written into the file. It does not change the pixel count |
- Choose PNG for artwork you will keep editing, print, or place over another background.
- Choose JPEG for posting and sharing, where file size matters more than a perfect copy.
Project files
A .paintrix file is the whole project: every layer, its adjustments, the background, and the timelapse. It is the format to use when you want to keep working, not just show the result.
- Backup to iCloud from a project's long-press menu puts a copy in iCloud Drive.
- Import from the home screen menu brings a
.paintrixfile back in. - Opening one from Files, Mail or AirDrop adds it to your gallery directly.
Exporting is free and unlimited, including from projects you cannot currently reopen. Reopening saved work is the one thing a Pro subscription unlocks.
